For fish tagged, it would be helpful if we all used the same nomenclature for fish species, river names, GPS coordinates for releases (UTM; NAD1983; Zone 16 N), etc. In fact, given that there are at least 5 or 6 common names for every species, we should include scientific names. If you put a transmitter in a species not listed, feel free to use the common name of your choice. If you do not know the GPS coordinate for release, river mile will suffice. For VR2s, it can get a bit more complicated. Put your original data in as shown in the template. You will find that it sometimes becomes necessary to remove or move VR2s from their original locations. Each time the VR2 is deployed in a different location, there should be a new line of data associated with that deployment. If you fill in all of the columns with data, we will know when a VR2 was deployed and last retrieved, and whether it is still active, lost or moved. I've highlighted two rows of data in yellow in the template to give you an example of a VR2 that was moved. It is important to fill all of the data for each VR2 so that they can be tracked and the fish locations will be correct throughout the study period. Finally, if your GPS coordinates are not in UTMs, we can correct that if neccessary. I am assuming everyone is using GPS for VR2 locations. If I am wrong, river mile will do.
